Fabrication of Ag-nanosheet-assembled hollow tubular array and their SERS effect

AbstractThis paper mainly describes a sacrificial template synthetic approach for the fabrication of the Ag-nanosheet-assembled hollow tubular array by using an electrochemical deposition in the mixed solution of silver nitrate and citric acid on gold layer pre-coated ZnO nanorods. The tubular array is formed by an outer shell of Ag-nanosheet blocks and corresponding an inner hollow structure, this internal hollow structure is attributed to the completely corroded ZnO nanorods. Such Ag-nanosheet-assembled hollow tubular array exhibits excellent surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) performance including rich surface activity, good selectivity and high sensitivity. Using this array as sensitive SERS substrate with good signal uniformity and reproducibility, it has been revealed that the detecting limit of R6G solution can be to 10(-12) M, presenting the potential applications of the SERS substrate materials in rapid detection of environmental organic pollutants.
